Anyone have two 20 yr olds come to your door selling magazines to sponsor their college internship to Boeing Aircraft to earn their A&ampEmoticon license working on a P-51 Mustang?  They said they were engineering students and U of H was sponsoring half of their trip if they could earn the other half.  Sounded like a definite scam to me, and they got quite rude when I asked them pointed questions.  No info on the U of H website to back them up.  Said they had to give up their driver's licenses to get the identification badges.. right! 4951

Not today, but we have in the past. Last time, I talked to them through the sidelight of the door to tell them, 'No thanks.' The guy pretended that he couldn't hear me.

Last night on KPRC 2 at 10pm there was a story - 2 'Pushy Solicitors Arrested' who were 'claiming to be magazine salesmen' in Garden Oaks. One solicitor refused to leave a resident's property and that resident grabbed a gun - the solicitor finally left. At the same time another solicitor selling at another Garden Oaks home got angry and grabbed the resident's cat! She called 911. Both guys were arrested, then one argued with the judge in court. Judge raised his bond from $5k to $25k!

They were charged with criminal trespassing.

Could not find the story online, but I record the 10pm news (because I am a nerd) and I just watched it again. Emoticon

I saw that too! The suspect walked off the red square mat while the judge was talking! He was so rude! Glad the judge raised the bond! 4951

So crazy!!! I'm sure that will be used against him. That judge had a lot of patience! I would have had to count to 10 ...or maybe 20! Emoticon 4951

A few years ago, I started receiving 6 magazines that I never ordered.  I got their bills but didn't pay them.  I contacted each magazine and told them I never ordered their magazine.  They said I would have to take it up with the person I ordered the magazine from.  EmoticonI then told them that I was not going to pay for the magazine, and they could cancel it or not.  They all stopped sending them after another month or two.I figured somebody (selling subscriptions) got my name and address and ordered them to boost their sales. 4951

@KWDUDE: They don't even try anymore. Do they not get that actually have to look semi professional to get their point across. Not even a company name or anything...I get people don't want to open their doors regardless but they just look like stupid criminals in cargo shorts and low budget collared shirts lmao

Those are the same guys.  Said they lived on Pine River Drive in SWH.  They could not produce any ID other than the cards their employer printed up for them.  They flashed some receipts indicating several people paid them $60 for their magazines. Wow 4951

That guy in the yellow shirt was in bear branch last Wednesday. He told me he was in high school and lived down the street. Uh, dude you're definitely not in high school. No thank you! 4951

I had a guy show up at my door a few months ago one day with what I'm assuming was a similar story. We didn't get that far. My pittie was right at my side and he actually said,"Oh s***!" when I opened the door. Yes I was holding her back. She's very friendly, loves people, and gets overly excited when meeting new people. I said that in an effort to be nice. He replies with, "This is the scar I got from the dog of the last lady who said that to me. Can you put your dog away?" Um, no. You're at MY door! What can I help you with? as I got super irritated. He says, "Forget this." and leaves. I love my dog. 4951

I ignore anyone who comes to my house. I get the church ladies frequently. Unless I invited you, your the police or needing a signature for a delivery, not answering. 4951
