Reactions as follows:* HR Officer is a dead b**** inside... didn't seem to care either way,
asked why. Told her better $$$, doesn't need to know how much. Work life
balance, 8- 5, less stress vs. 12 - 14 hour days. The  comment, I saw you weren't focused
the past few days. I knew something was wrong.   FREAKIN ROBOT!* HR Mgr was devastated... I was in this office the longest. Was in
total shock, why, why on the brink of tears. Odd for someone that
does not interact with me much, but seems to love and value me...
#STRANGE.  Was ask if it was something they did, the HR Officer did, Director 1 or
Director 2 did? Such a loaded question, so I said no.  My inner monologue was like a combo of all of you working me like a dog and allowing myself to be abused...Actual response was, this is a personal
decision and it provides me with opportunities I can further advance my skill-sets. Hours are 8 - 5, the reaction was very sad/upset - like someone
died... * Director 1 - texted this one that I needed to talk, it was important. This one was aboard for work this week.   Doooooooooooooooooooo shocked was so OMG. Didn't know what to say. I was asked  five times, are you sure you want to do this? ARE YOU SURE?!
#Crazy! Also  asked how much more $$$, I didn't answer that...  I replied it would be 8 - 5 for more $$$ and the reply to that was can't beat
that....GOD O'MIGHTY, are you sure??!!!  The shock on the other end of the phone was genuine....was finally told I am happy for you personally but **** at me as a colleague... #CRAZYPANTS *Director 2- this on is aboard too ...Was be shocked but all about people moving on to bigger and better things... hot mess right there.Any stories you care to share? 4951

@Zorro:

Had one boss accelerate my resignation and then tried to not pay me for days worked. Another boss basically told me she wouldn't have stayed as long as I did .....not those exact words but pretty much what she was trying to say. Congrats to you! 4951

Put your hand in a bucket of water.
Pull it out as fast as you can.
Did you notice how fast the void filled.
Sorry friend, but that void was you.
You made the choice to leave.
Don't expect to be missed.
Doesn't happen very often these days.
Just focus on your next job,

@Ann2800: It is sad, but it's true... You give a job 110% for years, and you might be missed until the end of the week. Adjustments are made, and they move on.@Zorro: Good luck on your new job!! Sounds like it was a positive move on your part!!

When I resigned from my previous position, my boss, a very levelheaded experienced female, told me to make sure I was making the right decision and considering the whole picture bc leaving for another job needs to be about more than just $. While I understood what she meant bc I have a young a family and I worked remote full-time, which made it much easier with scheduling pickup from school, etc., my current job pays 40% more, 2 days remote, and about 1/4 the stress and late hours I had at my previous job. Yes, I have a pretty stupid commute 3 days a week now, and I don't like my team as much, but the $ is very nice.Good luck! 4951

@klp1972: There are niche fields that they WILL miss (or at least regret you leaving) for a long time.  The old "everyone is replaceable" does not always apply, at least not easily or economically.
Former company took over a year to replace a position, because the necessary skill sets and capabilities were very rare... and the work so sensitive that it couldn't be a "learn on the job" thing. It's very satisfying to quit under those circumstances if they treated you badly. 4951
