you can cut me off in traffic. Yield does not mean run me over. No light or siren, just strolling along with the rest of traffic, digging in you ear. Yeah, I saw that, Gomer!

eeeehhh......not such a good thing for you to say on a public message board.......say it in your car, cuss him out, but don't do this.........the times are really too volatile for law enforcement officers in their lines of duty so no need to get so angry about something unimportant........I'm a LEO's mother and I don't think this kind of verbage accomplishes anything........you have a son, right........how would you feel if someone down-rated him in his duties.......pick your battles          4951

No, running up beside me pushing me over and cutting me off was such a blatant hostile move, for someone just casually driving. He deserves to be called out and told it's not cool. Anyone who does that should be called out and his badge does not exempt him. If he had lights and siren on, I certainly would have slowed and yielded. But he traveled along with traffic for about 15 miles.

Definitely Not Cool! 4951

@donnatella:
I'm sure he will hear about this and I agree, the laws are for all of our safety and for all of us to obey.

You're in the right to all attention to it... unless of course, it was you who was swirling down the road...8-)

@Safety44: Traffic was too heavy for stunts like that. I was in my lane in heavy traffic, just trying to get home. He was entering the highway to my right. The lane was mine and he knew it, that's why he came around me and pushed me over. I should have just stayed the course and let him hit me. 4951

@donnatella: I agree with you 100%. I saw one run down Kingwood Drive just the other day going about 55 mph and changing lanes.
No red lights and not going anywhere.

Hopefully their captains read these threads.

HPD doesn't particular care about stuff like this.I see them drive through stop signs routinely (without lights, just general patrolling) and parking in no parking areas when shopping (like I saw at HEB).  and of course blasting down the highways at warp 7 on their way home.Traffic laws don't seem to apply to them, but they ticket us for them (hypocrisy).  That creates a cynical and negative view of LEOs and shouldn't be allowed.  It's not good for us and it's not good for them.  Credibility is important.  Obey the laws you enforce.I'm hardly anti-law enforcement ... for those who want to jump on me for these comments.  I have family in law enforcement.  I just genuinely believe that law enforcement officers are better off leading by example and strictly obeying the laws they uphold.  Lots of people are hostile towards police now.  People don't need more reasons. 4951

@Odin: I'm not anti-LE either. Just because I call out one bad driver in an HPD vehicle is not anywhere close to being anti anything. You are correct...obey the laws you enforce. Had the tables been turned then he would have hit his lights and pulled me over in a heartbeat. 4951

@Cas3355: That's likely true, but he, as an officer of the law, has taken an oath to uphold that law and protect citizens, not break those laws being an overly aggressive and unsafe driver.

I am a citizen and a taxpayer, so my tax $$$ pays his salary, so we basically need each other. That badge given to him does not grant him Speed Racer rights and privileges any damn time he wants them. When he is not on a call and just casually driving around town, he is subject to the same traffic laws as anyone else. He does not and will never have the right or authority to do to anyone what he did today. 4951

@Odin:  Police, and emergency vehicles are not subject to the same laws as ordinary citizens, and are allowed to park wherever they feel the need.
