Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in? Wait about 30 seconds in between. 4951

@DanStantonProblem has been going on the past several days. First time it happened I unplugged it, waited, and it did come on when plugged in. Then it did it again and I repeated same procedure.  Came back on. Tonight, it would not work after several unpluggings and and trying again. It needs to be checked out by a repair person and I am not sure who to use. Any references on positive experiences with an in home service tech would be appreciated.  4951

Try googling the model number and see if there are any mentions of a similar problem. You may find that the repair cost will be prohibitive. 4951

Will be interesting to see if it can be fixed. I have a 65 inch that has done the same thing for two years.

My solution was to hit the "on" button repeatedly until the screen lit up.

I finally resorted to leaving it on. It's been on for about 6 months now.

My TV is in Missouri but I would love to get it fixed. I would even consider throwing it the pickup and hauling it down here.

There just isn't any such reliable repair services available in my area up there.

Please let us know if you find someone. 4951

The red light is on in the lower right corner of the tv. When clicked on from the remote it blinks repeatedly about five times. Then goes out. Disconnect the tv, leave off for a few minutes,not then reconnect. Light is back on. Same results when turned on again.

I'll let you know what happens and thanks for the feedback. 4951

My dad's tv just had the same problem. He thought it was the power supply and tried fixing it himself. When that didn't work he called someone for repair. They told him he was better off buying a new tv. We had a samsung that started getting black lines across the screen. The repair guy told us the same thing - it would cost more to fix than to replace. 4951

@Maisey1:

Our Samsung had three green lines going vertically (very distracting) that disappeared after about a month. Happy to say that!!

@Annie: Not ours! We started with one line, then a month later 2 then a 3rd a couple months after that. We still have the tv - it's hanging in the garage now for my husband to watch and it probably has 20 lines across the top of it.

Mine does exactly to same thing. If I follow those steps about 5 or 6 times, it comes on. I have to let it cycle through the attempted starts. You can hear a clicking noise as it cycles. It seems to take more attempts the colder it is in the room. We turn the heat down to 46 when we are not in Missouri and in the winter it's very difficult to get the TV warmed up.

Leaving it on has solved the problem short term, unless of course the power goes off. Thank God we have more reliable power in Missouri than in Texas. 4951

Disconnect any cable lines, recorders or players and use the on/off button on the TV to insure it is the TV and not the remote or peripherals. I should have mentioned that. 4951

@DanStanton:

Thanks Dan. I did that with mine and it is definitely the TV.
You can actually hear the clicking inside the TV as it tries to power up the screen.
It just can seem to make it until the thing warms up from repeated attempts 4951
