The police don't come down on you here unless one of you is having a bad day and takes it out on the other.

I've talked cops out of a lot of things. Even convinced one to quit their job. He/she still thanks me to this day. 4951

Whom ever receives the monies from the rent/payment on this property is making a living in this field. If you can honestly say, at your work when payday arrives and your paycheck does not arrive for whatever reason, it will put a big smile on your face......... 4951

I would like to hear all sides of the story on this one before taking sides. Generally, if the police have to get rough with you, there's usually a reason. They don't just go around treating normal, law abiding citizens like crap like that. This sounds like a forceable eviction and there's no way this was the first notice. There has to be much more to this story.

If I remember correctly, wasn't the OP the one upset that the condemned apartments were torn down and commenting on low-income people being thrown out in the cold?

This sounds more like it could be a continued crusade and agenda in play. Just because some want to live in Kingwood doesn't mean they have the means to do so.

Again, I want to hear all sides, but I believe I'm beginning to be a bigger picture here. 4951

@donnatella:
100% agree. I read a number of things on this when it happened back in September. From what I understood at the time it had been going on for a long time (maybe a couple of years) and finally it went through the court eviction process and the tenants still would not leave. The result was a forced eviction and the belongings were being loaded into a moving van when sheets hit the fan.

Being a former landlord, evictions do not happen overnight especially when children are involved. 4951

Absolutely tatertot. It's a process that doesn't happen overnight. No one likes to put anyone out, but it comes down to you can't stay if you don't pay. 4951

Sucks that there are kids involved, but I rent out a small home and I have kids too. If my renter doesn't pay his rent, MY kids suffer. We depend on that income just like anyone else depends on their income. And like others have said, getting evicted isn't an overnight process. More like an act of congress. The process takes forever.  4951

I did a little searching around on this and it appears husband and wife bought the property in 2004. In 2013 wife was awarded the property and at some point she allegedly stopped paying the mortgage and the ex did not take over the payments either thus subjecting the home to foreclosure. Then in June 2015 the home was sold at auction. The only thing I see weird is that there was no notice of foreclosure filed with the county clerk. I'm pretty sure there should have been a notice filed of record. Regardless, if she was still living in the property, she should have known that something was going on and taken steps to stop the foreclosure process at that time. Notices would have been mailed to her and her ex husband. Also, if she lost the house in June and the new owner didn't evict her until Sept. that's fairly lenient on their part. There has to be more to this than is given in the story. 4951

Sometimes people hide when being served and it takes a little longer. It's over for this lady. She can sue all she wants. Banks have their own lawyers and I'm sure they've crossed their t's and dotted their i's. Getting a tenant out for non payment of rent requires a process . You can't live somewhere for free. 4951

LAWSUITS FILED OCT. 2015 on property located at 3110 Cedar Knolls Drive, Kingwood, TX 77339 in Bear Branch subdivision. Do not buy/sale this property, it will cause u alot of major problems! It is not supposed to be listed for sale.The lady that owned it has been through hell & back w/this wrongful eviction w/kids. No help from police/constables that were out, 9 out of 10 were rude. 1 was decent during eviction. Told her to her face she couldn't get any of her paperwork from dead family, pictures from dead family, no clothes, none of the $200.00 worth of groceries bought the night before!!! One said to her face they were throwing them in her garbage!!! The 1 nice policeman put them in bags on the next door neighbors porch at 11 p.m. that night! Notice said could get items during eviction, was not allowed anything!!! Could have put at neighbor friends home next door! Sad! Sad was treated like an already dead animal in the road. Was stolen from big time, items left for supposed new owner to steal(she pleaded w/to get), had to pay $5,000 yes 5 grand to get 2 truck loads from the warehouse the police had warehousemen take items too!!! Rip off!!! Took advantage of!!! Even by police telling lady she could get 100% of her items that day from her house! Tried to get help from all over w/the fraudulent mortgage company since Jan. 2015 went on until Sept. 2015... read other post if interested...Please no rude/crude comments as this lady has been through hell & has kids.For more info.: Read post before this one about "Lawsuits filed home Bear Branch"

@greedsad: I agree with you on the greed part with banks and insurance and now tax offices.  I hope the lady wins the lawsuit because if what you say is true, she should win.   BUT with one persons comments before this does not happen over night.  I think that it would make more since in your story if the lady received a foreclosure notice and ignored it or took no action on it, later received a eviction notice due to the foreclosure of the hose and still took no action and then after still being there and had done nothing to relocate her belonging when she knew she was going to be thrown out lost everything.  I hope I am wrong but my story sounds more like what could have happened.  Again I hope she wins in court, and I hope my version is wrong but history of people loosing houses fall into my version of what could have happened.  Depending on the bank a foreclosure can be as quick as 30 days.  Good luck.

@mandib7780:
Then you can be arrested for breaking and entering, burglary, theft and maybe other things. Once the eviction has gotten to the forced eviction part you are pretty much done and have lost. There would have been plenty of time to remove your belongings. Like has been said in the other posts, there is most likely a lot more to this story that is not being shared. 4951
