@foxymama:
I did it a number of years ago and did very well. I now find it difficult to follow and not get the results I got in the past. Just today I was wondering if I had the only program squirreled away somewhere 4951

Research Trim Healthy Mama instead. Very balanced, highly nutritive meals, no hunger. You lose inches like crazy. 4951

I did it right after I had my son. I had done it on the past and had success with it. With the phone ap I find it very easy. Obviously the more you exercise the better it works. But I find that it works best for making you conscious of what you are eating and how much. You only get out of it what you put in though. That being said I find it very easy to use. You can save foods in the ap and it makes it easier to track. I plan to go back to it once I have the baby. 4951

Not magic. Eat much smaller portions, eat a lot more vegetables than meat and starches, severely limit the cocktails. Stay out of fast food places and limit restaurant visits. Drink a lot of water. Get some exercise but killing yourself is unnecessary, take walks etc.
Pounds will come off steadily if you keep it up.
All those programs try to do is instill some discipline in your eating habits. 4951

I loved weight watchers back in the UK and it really worked, the plan is exactly the same I just haven't been able to adjust to the different foods and food availability here and when I tried it here I didn't get anything like the same results, perhaps someone brought up here will have better luck with it.The thing I liked was that there was none of that smaller portions more vegetables than meat crap, you had your points, you kept within them each day and you lost weight, you had bonus points each week to absorb those days when you needed that bit more or for special occasions. You could regain points by exercising (tho it's better to not take advantage of that).I didn't even have to stop drinking Coke, having said that HFCS isn't quite as friendly for weight loss as cane sugar, I wish Mexican Coke was cheaper, gonna have to bring some back when I go to Matamoros. 4951

All very true. But for me it is the accountability of the weigh in. Also, tracking your food helps you to be mindful of mindless snacking and of good vs bad snacking. It is helpful for some but not for everyone. I say if is helpful for you than do it. Whatever you need to do to get healthy and reach your goals! 4951

@CartmanUK35:

I also found that staying away from their meals and branded foods was more helpful than one would think. Like the soda, all that low fat junk is actually worse for you because it is not real and your body doesn't know how to process it. While you might have more calories in full fat or sugar food items your body actually knows what it is and can deal with it. Studies have also shown this. I don't buy that stuff anymore and I generally feel better. 4951

Oh I never bought a weight watchers or diet specific product, if I had to love on that crap I would never have sustained it at all, it may not be as good for you but the worst part is most of it tastes bloody awful! I tried to substitute Coke Life for Coke and couldn't deal with the taste of it, it was better than Zero which is better than Diet but none of them measure up to regular Coke which again doesn't measure up to Mexican/European Coke. I wish we could get more drinks with real sugar in here instead of the HFCS crap but the Corn lobby had too much control. 4951

True, but we all have our vices and totally denying yourself usually ends up with a binge. I don't have too many things I can't live without but every now and then I do enjoy a Chick-fil-a sandwich or a frosty, but very rarely. But because I only do it on occasion I don't feel guilty about it later. I think that is key. 4951

Have you tried the Shrinker drink?  Where do you buy that brand of tea? 4951

I did not read that as once in a while. And you do it because you want a treat, not because you are out of control on a binge. 4951

@lola: You should give THM a try! There is a very active and helpful group on Facebook. My daughter has the book pretty much memorized and has been a big help to me. When we buy oolong tea on Amazon, but I have seen it in grocery stores also.

@ET: I'm aware, but it is the only thing I can drink consistently, I can't drink anything else except for a beer with food as I find the flavors intermingle and ruin the food, If I could do sweet tea I am sure it's neutral flavor would be fine but it is also unhealthy and cold tea disgusts me. The reason for trying all the Coke alternatives is exactly because I am trying to find something with less sugar, sadly the options suck. I have reduced my intake and now do sugar free water enhancer at work which I really don't enjoy. If I cut out the coke completely I would probably end up dehydrated. I only drink one serving of the enhanced water per day because I don't like it enough to bother with another. Luckily for me I don't have a sweet tooth and don't have much sugar otherwise.On a related note I have read recently that Coke was scientifically formulated to be drinkable and neutral so you don't get bored with it... mission accomplished there.Other than HFCS and the artificial crap, my biggest concern is the ridiculous amounts of sodium in foods here, the food industry in this country is so far behind that of the UK, I would give anything for a decent supermarket here... for decent look at www.sainsburys.co.uk, even the "fancy" places like whole foods and central market don't have the kind of fresh convenient food that all the British supermarkets carry.
