I know I don't deserve any sympathy over this, but thank you
@beadweaver!Will most likely try to sell it and get something much cheaper.I don't know what happened to all that Dave Ramsey training i had
@Zokomo:
I know how your feeling. Been there. I always had road jobs and bought used. No sense on buying new and beating it with 1500 miles a week or more.
Well, in 2012 our car and truck became money pits. Then a teen hit and ran us. Needless to say the body shop's paint job was unacceptable. I could do better outside on a windy day.
I fought, got a brand new car with 27 miles to use. I traded my truck in. A week later the body shop manager bought the car for his teenage daughter and we bought another with 6 miles. We got great price and interest. We also have nearly $1,000 a month in payments. After 9 years of no payments it's hard. Needless to say 9 months later my mil went to a nursing home for alzhimers and it's on us.
Some months it was a struggle but we made it to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Take a moment and breathe. See if there are things you can do without.
When we ran into trouble, we ditched the cable, internet, and lowered our food budget. I now bake treats and cook from scratch. We stopped eating out and going out to have cocktails. I drink three jugs of rum a year, that's $60 plus soda. If I go out most places charge me $7.50 plus. Just one at that price a day costs $2,737.50.
We still get our music and art fixes as we hit up free or low cost events. We do spend a lot of time in the forest ( my happy place) or at the lakes etc.
Get creative and I bet you can swing it.
Btw buying new gave us 1.9% interest, used with 40,000 miles was 4.9%. 4951
