How appealing is he now that he has stated that rape is not a reason to have an abortion. In my opinion rape should be the primary reason to have an abortion!!! He has truly lost my vote, no way I would want to carry a child and have to raise/take care of it by a man who violated me, nope! He can hang it up with women independent voters, they're not going to stand behind him on this one.

no video of him making the comment?

@mm4731: Not sure about that specific comment, but he has gone on record comparing abortions to slavery and he wants it banned.

While I 100% believe abortion should be legal no matter what in the first trimester, I don't like the mentality that there is ever a "good reason" for it. It is a very, very personal decision and no one's business besides the woman and her partner (if he is involved).  A woman's decision to have an abortion should not be judged any more than a  woman's decision to keep a child conceived by rape. Her life, her choice.  Not a single one of us has to live with the consequences or can understand the full picture but her. That being said, Carson has zero common sense. 4951

He has no political back ground & he puts his mouth in motion before his brain is in gear . He puts all women in a lower class than men & does not think we have any feelings or brains...just my opinion. 4951

@bubbleyes72: I respect your opinion, but I would not change my mind over this issue. This is the way I see it: There are issues which, while important, are not going to be meaningful. Example: Gay marriage and abortion (on the liberal side), 2nd ammendment (on the conservative side). I think (and I know I could be wrong) those battles have been settled and that is why I don't think they are meaningful in the next election. I don't think the next president will make a difference on those. I will give my vote to whoever shows the best solutions for: the economy, national security, foregin policy, immigration, education, healthcare. Those will be the issues that the next president will have a direct impact on. Again, this is IMHO. So, I will NOT vote for: Hillary, Bernie, Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. I know, slim pikings!

I guess a candidate with Hilary's political savvy, Sanders sense of fairness and  Trump's business sense  and candor would have little to no competition. However this is just IMHO. 4951

Dr. Ben Carson says he would “love” to see Roe v. Wade overturned, making abortion illegal in nearly all cases.“I’m
a reasonable person, and if people can come up with a reasonable
explanation of why they would like to kill a baby, I’ll listen,” Carson said in an interview that aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.Unreasonable
explanations, according to the Republican presidential candidate,
include unwanted pregnancies in cases of rape and incest.“Rape and incest, I would not be in favor of killing a baby because the baby came about in that way,” he said. The only case Carson would consider allowing an abortion would be for the health and safety of the mother.“That’s
an extraordinarily rare situation,” the retired neurosurgeon said. “But
if in that very rare situation it occurred, I believe there’s room to
discuss that.” 4951

@notfromhere: Thank you, I appreciate it and I respect yours as well, I was reluctant to post this since politics can turn nasty. However, everything you listed above that I bolded should be first and foremost the topics for the next president to address and take on since they are very critical for this country, everything else I suppose will be secondary. 4951

@notfromhere: The next president for the most part, will have no more power than congress allows him or her to have. In my opinion the equally important elections are really the mid-term elections.

I tend to disagree with him on that, and a couple/few other ideas as well. But overall, in a more general rather detailed one at a time subject, how does he compare to others overall? But like they say; 4951

On a personal level I think Cason has done many incredible things with his life and probably is a nice guy to be on a personal level with or here at a medical conference explain a technique. A lot of people said that about George W. Bush also, the kind  of guy to sit down and have a beer with (guess they didn't know he wasn't a drinker).  But for as educated as the Dr. is he says some things that are really inaccurate and will come back to haunt him in the end. The same for Trump. Like I have said before, to get elected as POTUS you have to attract a fair amount of independents and minorities and I don't see that happening with Carson or Trump. I am Chrisinkingwood and I have approved this message and have not used the "cut and paste" function for my opinion stated here. Furthermore I am not in any way related to that Pink Bunny guy. 4951
