Hello, I live in Kings Mill & the daily traffic on Northpark Dr. is insane sometimes. Is there anything that the community or the city can work on in order to aliviate this situation??? Now that the school year is about to start is going to be pretty stressfull to drive in the area. Any comments? Regards,Guanina 4951

Traffic can get backed up on Northpark but at least it moves. Other areas of Houston have much worse traffic. When I lived in Katy it would take me over an hour to go 12 miles. I'll sit in Northpark traffic any day. 4951

Leave at odd times. Most people leave on the 1/4 or 1/2 hour- if you leave in between traffic isn't as bad- still bad but not as bad. It's been a problem for a long time 4951

Traffic will always be an issue and the city currently has no firm plan to do anything about it in the known future.  There was a two year study done recently to create a plan to address it through widening of Kingwood Dr (not Northpark though because it is in a different county) however a few weeks ago the city pulled funding pushing the project to TXDot which essentially means that nothing will happen.  Our city councilman is "fighting for us" to get funds returned but I think we can all agree that is a pipe dream. The upside is we get to keep our treelined roads.  The downside is they won't even be repaving the roads which was the very least that was promised.Figure out with your employer if you can adjust your travel time/work schedule.  Other than that, commute times are the sacrifice you make for not living downtown or nearer your workplace.  It's a tradeoff. 4951

Be happy that you live at the front in Kings Mill. At least you don't have to sit in it as long as the rest of us.  4951
