I've been involved in a few "Pay-it-Forward" lines at Starbucks or McD's before, but those little feel-good moments pale in comparison to what I witnessed today. The wifey and I had lunch together at Red Lobster since she got home early from work. Seated next to us was a family from Porter. At one point their server comes over and shows them a receipt with a note on it. A lady sitting on the other side of them had just purchased their entire meal. They were speechless, as I imagine anyone would be, and tears were beginning to flow. The emotion that covered them carried over onto our table and had touched our hearts as well. I asked them if I could share the story with others and they agreed. The waitress told us that the kindhearted woman who'd paid for their lunch, asked her to not say anything until she was gone. She also inquired about leaving them a note. She did not know them nor did she talk to them, but she did manage to touch their lives(and ours) as if they'd been friends forever. Emoticon I wish I could've thanked her...I never even noticed her sitting there. You'd think it would be easy to spot someone with a halo and wings. Emoticon  4951

Great story!  Between this one and WTF's mention of the Monument Inn, I'm starting to crave seafood. 4951

well I'm just ballin' here......what a sweet, beautiful, self-less deed for this woman to do.......and I'll bet she was having her lunch alone......I often see senior ladies dining alone, and by the way, I am one and I feel sad for them/us but hey, you just have to make yourself get out there..........I hope someday to be able to do something big like this....that ticket was probably a good chunk-o-change!!what a sweet lovely looking family too......i'll bet this deed really leaves an impression on those 3 children......just wonderful......thanks for sharing the story.....maybe there is hope for this world..... 4951

I love these kind of stories.
I personally think there are more kind people in the world than the other way around.

Bless that woman for being afforded not only to do such a kind thing but actually do it.

No matter how crappy health wise I feel, I feel pride in our community. 4951

At Christmas time I was in the new Krogers with my DD and we were looking at the toys because she had picked some stuff on Amazon and I wanted to see what the deals were there for the same thing.  I had a few food items in my shopping cart and needed to pick up a prescription so her and I were talking.  Financially we had been struggling and I was just having a down day.

All of a sudden a little girl comes up to me, hands me a $100 bill and says my grandfather said God Bless you.  I was stunned.  I asked were he was and he peeked his head around the corner and said take it.  He told me to go get some more groceries and meet him back at check out.

I walked around the store crying like a baby and couldn't even call and tell anyone because I was speechless at that point.  I asked him if he did that often and he told me when God tells him to he does and if he has it he will.  At that moment I just could not believe it.

The cashier was amazed after he paid because he just said God Bless and Merry Christmas and left and she was like do you know him.  I said no and told her what happened and she was shocked.

I tried to pay it forward a few weeks later when I was at the gas stations and there was a lady with a bunch of kids and she had forgotten her debit card.  She had a few dollars in cash but not enough to cover all they had.  Of course little kids don't understand when you tell them they have to put something back that you already let them pick out so I paid the extra money for her.  I wish I could do more but there are alot of awesome amazing people in this world. 4951

Of course the waitress was excited.  The world is full of both good and bad.  Good makes people feel good, excited, happy. 4951
