What is your opinion of adults riding bicycles? More for leisure than sport. I think I might want to get a cruiser style bike, I've just never looked at a grown up on a bike & thought "Man, do they look cool!" lol! 4951

I have a flat footed cruiser which I really like, foot brakes and a hand brake, 3 speeds. I only wish they made it with 5 speeds. 4951

I love cycling. Just remember to set a good example to youth and other adults and wear a helmet. Also, follow the rules of the road. It's fun and a great way to get exercise.

Bike Werks moved to the strip mall where Embody is. They will help you find the right bike for what you want. 4951

I take to the streets/greenbelt on one daily when I get home from work, primarily for the exercise since I spend all day in an office. I try to keep a pretty brisk pace to keep the heart rate up. On weekends I do take a more leisurely approach just to enjoy the outdoors. But I'm not one of those costumed bike riders that dresses up in complete lycra outfits. Shorts and a t-shirt works fine for me. I don't wear a helmet because a good head injury might do me some good. 4951

@Spork: Good thing too, Beastmode would not approve.

I have been looking at an imcuberment(?) Bike. A self powered trike. I haven't rode a bike since I was 21 and I nearly got killed. It was a little bit big for me but necessity at the time called for it. I walked next time.
My dh got me to try one at target but they were not amused with us and said I couldn't ride um crash their store.

@heather don't worry about being cool or being seen as cool. Do what makes your smile feel like it's gonna crack your face.

I have two bikes, one for trails one for roads.  A bike ride is nice except when there are cars that don't share the road.  There are a lot of bikers who don't follow the rules and people get annoyed with them but if you are careful you can almost go anywhere in KW.  A trail map is helpful. 4951

I'm like @Tatertot58. I'm an adult ( senior by definition) and I don't car what people think. I obey all laws and wear spandex and ride the road. I also have an old road bike to ride trails. Lately I've toyed with the idea of a cruiser with a basket to make short trips and ditch my car. We'll see- we're headed to Germany and will be renting those Big Butt Belgian bikes that weigh a ton. If I can hang with that I'll be buying a cruiser!Just do it and ride your little heart out- BUT WEAR a frigging helmet- brain injuries are NOT fun. And yes you can totally split your noggin at 5 miles an hour. I had a bike wreck doing 7- lost my wheel in gravel and tore a rotator cuff- BUT avoided a concussion because my helmet save my head. Would've been a frontal lobe problem- can you say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? 4951

@heathur I highly recommend getting something with 3-5 speeds. I have a cool looking cruiser, but it's a heavy beast & quite a workout to ride around. I know there aren't any hills around here, but I took my bike to the lake to ride with friends. I'll never forget that hill. I can still hear it taunting me.  4951
