Anyone know of a place in Kingwood or near by that does eyebrow threading? I can't seem to find a place! Tia! 4951

@alwik89 I don't know of anyone in KW, but I've been to a place called New Look that does really good threading. They're located on 1960, in the same strip center as Half Priced Books. Be aware that they have some iffy reviews online, but I had a great experience & left happy. Lately I thread & dye my own brows because it's so hard to find time to go to a salon! 4951

There's a lady at the Summerwood HEB, but I would be cautious.  We've walked by and personally witnessed her wetting the thread with her mouth.  GROSS!!!  Not to mention very unsanitary and a serious health code violation.  Yes, I know it's just hair that is coming out, but that's just too close to my eye for comfort. 4951

Thanks ladies! And every time I have gotten my brows threaded they put the end in their mouth. It helps keep the thread steady and that end never touches you! Freaked me out too at first! 4951

@Alwilk89: Holding the end with her mouth is NOT what I saw.  She was definitely wetting or smoothing the middle of the thread, the part that touches, with her mouth...sort of like when you are threading a needle and you wet the thread to smooth it before threading it.  If she were doing what you describe, I would not have thought much of it and wouldn't have been grossed out.

Eww! That's nasty! @donnatella. I've used the store inside the mall, I can't remember the name. I usually end up with this one lady who ALWAYS makes my eyebrows crooked as h**. I stopped going and I'd love a good recommendation as well. 4951

@Grimmie:  It is extremely nasty.  Maybe that's the standard in her home country but it doesn't meet the health code standards here.  It seemed like a cool concept, but after seeing that, I'll stick with my salon, get waxed and pay a little extra to have it done cleanly.

Ok, I've seen where they put one end of the string in their mouth, to keep tension on it, but I would BARF if they licked the whole string!!! I've found that threading, if done well, produces a cleaner, more defined brow. And it's never hurt me, except for once when I went to this woman that works locally in atascocita. She worked out of her house at the time, and I had been dozens of times with awesome results. But then one time...she effed me up sooooo baaaad. She was clearly in a terrible mood, seemed mad at me! And she scalped the heck out of my eyebrows. I never went back, but it was a long time ago. I wish I had the cajones then to lay into her over that, but Ya live & learn.  4951

Next you will say no mani/pedi, then forego to scaping, then lastly, just forget the razor altogether and end up looking hairy, wooly-booger man.
