I came across a chocolate lab this morning on West Lake Houston Parkway at Kings River (south of the river bridge) at about 6:55 am. He had been hit by a car. We could not get to him because when we got close, he got aggressive.

He had no visible injuries but his back legs were obviously hurt because he couldnt get up. He had on a red collar, no tags, but looked like he was well cared for and well nourished. I thinkmhe lived nearby because he had thrown up and he had obviously eaten commerical dog food recently.

The SPCA responded and got there a little after 9:00 am. They wer able to crate him up and take him away.

If you are missing a chocolate lab or know someone who is, the SPCA has him

I hope the SPCA is giving him some pain meds while he waits in a cage for his owners to find him.  Hope it's not too late.  Anyone know how long they will hold him for? 4951

The lady said that unless the injuries we catastrophic, they would treat and adopt the dog.

Spca is better now than they were in the 80's when they sold dogs with parvo. They will fix the pup to get better. 4951

SPCA is known for their high euthanasia rates; their money goes mostly to their Administration.  Google the Internet; it's ALL there. 4951
