Or will this be the incentive for Suddenlink to finally up their services?AT&T on Tuesday announced plans to bring its ultra-fast "GigaPower" internet service to the City of Houston. In a press release, the company said the all-fiber network "will provide services featuring symmetrical upload and download broadband speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second."Source: Video Includedwww.khou.com/story/t ech/2014/08/05/att-g igapower-service-com ing-to-houston/ 4951

I have seen some of the greenbelts painted on the sides with "ATT fiber" in bright orange. Mostly around the W.Lake Houston side of Creekwood Middle. I wondered if that meant AT&T was putting in lines. It just might be the case. 4951

We need the competition. I just found out our Suddenlink plan has a data cap, that information wasn't exactly given away when you sign up. 4951

Suddenlink is awful

@silly123: And that is putting it nicely! I can't wait to be among the first to be "Suddenly Disconnected"

What happened to the good old days of Time Warner cable when you could get EVERYTHING for $65.00 a month, and your bill never changed?!?!?! The only time you had to call them was when you were going to order a fight or wrestling match? Ahhh, the good ole' days are long gone folks. 4951

When I was a teenager I sold cable door to door at night after school. Yes, different days then! But the big selling point was no commercials. Now cable TV is just like regular TV with commercials everywhere. And we pay good money for all of those commercials. Emoticon 4951

I like that ATT offers the ability to record four things at once. I don't need it often but it would eliminate some drama with the dvr. 4951

It would be nice to dump CenturyLink.  They are better than Suddenlink, but not by much.  Unfortunately we only have the 2 choices here in Forest Cove.  CenturyLink says we are at the end of their line so what we get is the best they have.  But, as I said, it's better than Suddenlink. Bring it on AT&T....now!!!!!!! 4951

@TexasOma: I've had both and I hate both, although Suddenlink has better internet and home phone service than CenturyLink. Once my contract is up I am going back to Suddenlink for the phone and internet and keep my cable with DirecTV, which I happen to love. 4951

I heard this,, but if you live in the bear branch area,,, on this side of the drainage,, you don't get it. They are only doing this inside the kingwood common area. Which means,, those of you with those big fancy nice houses with large yards, and pay the big buck,, get it first. 4951

I wish Comcast would come to the East side of 59. I never had any issues with their service. Dish/Directv are unable to get clear broadcast for all the trees. I would definitely like to try someone other than Suddenlink who wants to blame all the technical issues on my end when it is clearly on their end. 4951

I have Direct and live next to a reserve and have no problem with interference from trees.  This last time they put it on the back of the garage, not the roof & it works great. I really have lots of trees around me. 4951

My Suddenlink goes out  more often than I do … sometimes only for a moment or two … but always at the peak of the shows. 4951
