If you live in the Kings Crossing Apartments keep an extra close eye on your vehicle. There have been a rash of vehicle break ins & busted car windows & all they are doing is stealing the car battery. I am one on the many victims.Edit by Admin:According to the Crime Summary by the Observer:

On Feb. 18, officers responded to a stolen vehicle report in the 3700 block of Kingwood Dr.& On Feb. 14, officers responded to a burglary of an apartment in the 3700 block of Kingwood Dr.Source:http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/kingwood/news/hpd-kingwood-weekly-crime-summary/article_c6ed3a16-59e4-529d-a7fd-9cb26d6e4722.html 4951

Yeah, be on the watch if they took your battery. They don't want the old used one they stole, they want the fresh brand new one you replaced it with. They come back later to steal it too.Any used automotive battery is worth $15-20 as a core for recycling. 4951

I had my car broken into at Rice Village late last year; I asked the same thing about the glass, and the policeman said that the pros know how to jimmy the glass so that it breaks very quietly. Ugh. Basically they flex it until it pops. 4951

@Quats: Or you simply scratch the glass with a shard of aluminum oxide ceramic, or throw it at the glass. A pea sized hunk thrown will break the tempered glass 9 out of 10 times. The resulting broken glass is no louder than a bowl of rice krispies.

@MTechnique: That is so 90's. A simple device called a center punch does the trick. It looks like a metal pencil. The "lead" refracts when a certain amount of pressure is placed upon it. This in turn forces the rest of the "pencil" right through the window with little or no noise.

BTW, anyone want to buy some used car batteries, cheap? JUST KIDDING

Maybe the apartments should have a patrol put in place for a while?!?!?!  I would be suggesting that for sure - esp. if it has happened to several people.  Not good advertisement for them otherwise.  Sorry this happened to you!! 4951

Kings Crossing Supposed to have someone that patrols the apartments but obviously nobody is patrolling

Kings crossing is a big property they should have enough money to pay for a security to walk all areas of the apartments at all times 4951

Kings Crossing Apts has had problems with thefs for many years.  I managed apts in KW for 15 years & personally, I would move to a more reputable place.  They all have problems, but more  so at Kings Crossing, KWLakes, Woodland Hills & Trailwood.  You pay for what you get! 4951

#1 My profile pic isn't upside down I'm actually laying down in the picture.
#2 @Camelot not everyone in Kingwood ,such as myself, have the $ to move into a nice, swanky complex. True you pay for what you get, but it's not going to be any better in a more reputable complex. THEFTS are still going to happen even at a place with a better reputation.
Once in a blue moon you see someone patrolling this place. There's worse & weirder things that go on here. Women's underwear being stolen out of the machines on the laundry room, cats being violated, drugs, vehicles being stolen all together, etc. All these things happen @ nicer complexes you just don't hear about it. 4951

I HATE CATS!!!!! I ran one off on Sunday that came in my yard on my back deck. I knew where he was headed too, to my blue Lilly of the Nile so he/she could take a damn ****. I don't know why folks can't keep their pets in their own back yard!!!!!!! 4951

@bubbleyes72:

You really can't keep a cat in a yard.  They need to be kept in the house, like ours. 4951

Yeah that happened here. A resident posted a letter at the mail boxes here about it. What I want to know is how they knew it had been violated & why didn't they say something sooner about it. They waited 4 days after it happened to say anything. 4951
