What do you guys use in your kennels?  My puppy is eating EVERYTHING we put in there for her. This morning she puked up the towel she chewed last night and ate.  She is sitting next to me now chewing on a blanket.  She has tons of chew toys and eats enough food so she is not starving. I don't want to leave her in there with nothing because it has to be hard but I also don't want her to end up with an obstructions because she is eating everything we put in there.Man, my cats were so much easier.  You give them a litter box and food, show some affection when they want it and you are all good. Thanks so much in advance for any help. 4951

Mine never did that. I would remove it & let her lay on the hard bottom. Eating that stuff is bad for her, as you stated.  When you are close by put something in there & try to teach her not to chew it up. Most dogs are very trainable. If she keeps chewing on her mats or towels remove it & scold her. 4951

Maybe try one of those Kongs and stuff some peanut butter or cheese in there.  Give her a few good walks a day and tire her out. 4951

get the pup a nylabone or similar chew toy or a kong chew toy. odds are the puppy is teething and chewing things relieves the itch in the gums. and be cautious about leaving towels and blankets etc if she is chewing them cause you could be looking at surgery for a bowel obstruction from the pup doing that. 4951

@fofa: Thanks @fofa She's 6 months and we have tried so many different things for her.  She will tear apart a rope toy in about 15 minutes.  We've tried about 5 different ones already.  I got a brand new cat tower and it had a rope hanging on it and she shredded that in less than 5 minutes.  When she starts chewing she doesn't stop until she destroys what she's chewing.

@ukpam55: She has 2 kongs in different sizes.  I have stuffed those things completely full and she gets the stuff out in 5 minutes.  By the time I get home at night it's hard for a walk but while I'm cooking dinner my daughter takes her out back and chases her almost non stop for 30 to 45 minutes.  We do long walks on the weekends.

@dotti573: get her some thick bully sticks

@mm4731: Were do you get your bully sticks?  I had gotten her I believe it was an antler and in less than a week she had it cleaned out and was starting to break through the outside.

nylabones are awful! I give my mutts bully sticks.

If the mutt is chewing up towels than just get rid of them

@mm4731 My DH threw out all the towels this morning when he let her out.  When she was like 3 months I got a pack of 3 different nylabones.  The edible one was gone in less than 5 minutes.  The light color brown one lasted about 3 days and the white one about a week.  I did buy something recently made by nyla.  It's hard plastic shaped like a bone, orange in the middle and white on the ends.  She has had that for about 2 weeks now but she chews the crap out of it.

@dotti573: tractor supply has the red barn brand which is pretty good. I get mine at Costco when they have them.

@mm4731: No membership at Costco so I will try Tractor Supply.  Is that the one in Porter on 59 feeder?

We put as Kong with peanut butter since that is her fav food. You can put cheese yougert etc. Make sure you fill it first and freeze it first or we pick up beef knuckles at animal ark and that is all she gets. 4951
