Nutcracker Market Time-Already?! This is how you know it's holiday season in Houston. The Nutcracker market begins next week on Thursday, November 12. Early bird admission will be on Thursday and Friday at 8:30 AM. I haven't been in years, but I have to admit it is a fun event and my sister and I realized that if we waited until the last three hours of the event, we saw plenty, and it was so much easier to shop without the huge crowds. Will you go? houstonfamilymagazin e.com/family-fun/top -10-buys-at-nutcrack er-market/

Nutcracker was always a must do for years! I remember when it was held at George R Brown and it was nothing like it is now. Back then, it was mostly wonderful crafts. I haven't gone in 6 years. But I still peruse the vendor list and check out any websites that are of interest to me. A lot of what is sold at Nutcracker can be found at brick and mortar stores or online. But it is fun!

It seems you need to take out loan to shop there. Very pricey but they need to pay off their space I guess.
luannski reacted I went for many years, since it is a donation to the Houston Ballet Foundation, who funds so many things, including helping with the costs for dancers who cannot afford it, but win these scholarships, and so much more, here in Houston. I remember going to the GRB, too!
I went once and realized by the time I paid for entry and parking half my budget was gone!
It is where the big fancy houses in the Heights get their HUGE decorations.

My mom collects mice (mostly Xmas tree ornaments) so I got her this big Nutcracker Mouse King at a Christmas market in Belgium. She loved it! (Was very tricky juggling on the airplane!
I always enjoyed going to the Nutcracker Market but I just can't deal with the crowds anymore. Now I just stick with the local holiday markets and shopping local.
