I guess I think about it quite a bit. I have experienced deep and personal loss that forced me to be realistic . It also made me see first hand the maze of decisions that need to be made in order to make sure that my loved ones can move forward as easily as possible when I am gone.
I ordered a specialty file box that has all of my documents organized that will be needed- from my will, to car titles, insurance, home deed, tax returns, extra keys, passwords they may need, how to use my airline miles and Amex points (lol), etc. It also includes my living will and advanced directives, my wishes for my celebration of life and personal letters to my loved ones.
I am still in the process of simplifying my possessions so that there are not endless closets and unnecessary belongings for my heirs to go through.
It is so much easier to do these things when one is feeling healthy and happy with life. It is not an easy thing for the family to have to discuss with you once the end is near- and I don't want that burden for my loved ones.
Often! I work in Hospice! PLEASE get your POA done now! Make a Living Will, a will, and prearrange what you can. You wouldn't believe what a mess can result if you don't have it. You never know when you may need it!!!

Pretty often, but not in a morbid way. With elderly parents that have significant health issues, it is definitely in the conversation from time to time. We're not getting any younger either, and need to start planning things so our DS isn't burdened with any of it when our time comes.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad test results. It can cause a lot of anxiety, just the not knowing part. I've already beat cancer once but they said it will probably come back so I understand the anxiety of not knowing. You will be in my prayers.
