I have TXU I paid $450 for the month if September used 1800kwh. 3 units 2 in the main house 🏠 and 1 in the garage apartment . Set at 78 degrees during the day it does get warmer

Here's an article about a bill in Congress that could have helped lower our electricity bills:

The bill needed 60 votes in the Senate. It would let electricity regulators consider the heavy use of data centers.
 
It passed the House of Representatives in a 417-3 vote. Why did the Senate not vote in the same bipartisan way?

BELIEVE :
I read that the reason is all the infrastructure spending that Centerpoint had to do. The law enables them to do it. They cannot raise whenever they want. A commission has to approve the justification.
 
What we are paying is the cost of living in a place like Houston.
 
I also read that Texas residents pay less than the national average.

One other thing. The residential rates are lower than the commercial and industrial rates because it is more expensive to serve so many residences.
