My husband is a huge Steelers fan! We Both grew up in Pa and he has always been their fan no matter where we have lived!

Lamb on the rod is served in most of the bars and in some restaurants. It is lamb pieces cooked on grill and served with peppers and onion or garlic sauces and pita bread on the side. Sooo good!
City chicken is pork/ veal pieces that are breaded and seasoned and put on a skewer and then deep fried on the stick and then finished in the oven. This was a depression food because chicken was so expensive that these were made and when cooked looked similar to chicken legs. (Grocery stores sell the meat and sticks in PA but of course they don't have them here so I make my own)!
The other food I miss is ham loaf! I still make it though by grinding my own ham and adding ground pork.
As for wedding soup… that is my family
favorite. I make that once in a while as it takes a long time to make. Pa uses endive or escarole for the greens which I can't find so I use spinach and it is incredible.
