Understand the Draft FEMA Floodplain Maps for Your Home or Neigh

I received a letter from the NFIP last year saying that my property is in a "special flood hazard zone." I was not in a flood zone before, and from what I can tell from the proposed map, I am still not in a flood zone. My home never flooded, and we never had water collecting the street, even during Harvey and the infamous Perry Homes flood after that. I will try to go to one of the information sessions because I guess I don't understand how they are using these maps.
