Your garden looks great, and I hope it produces all the things that you are working on to grow. I admire people who grow their own food, this is something I hope to work on myself in the future.

Txbutterfly Ruger5: wasn't there a KW garden club meeting in the room in the back with us the last time we had lunch at J Christopher's? I forget their association name, but I remember it being gardening related. This was September/October-ish.

Bahahha you think I remember that!!! I vaguely remember us meeting for lunch and a large group being there. I do not remember them. Oddly, I remember CUZ being dressed from the gym and she was headed to Costco after lunch 🙃 after that...nada

Yea it's imperative to have solar shade here in AZ. I've had success with Cherokee Purple and Celebrity but no where near the success I had in TX. Same agricultural zone 9a as Kingwood but the sun is absolutely brutal here. It's too late for me to start seeds- my winter tomatoes are still producing. I may buy an established tomato plant and bury the pot and see if I can get summer tomatoes. I don't have enough money to amend my soil for growing in the ground and I'd probably have to rent a jack hammer 🤣.
I tell you what though- citrus LOVE this soil. My lemon tree produced over 200 lemons! My grapefruit and blood orange tree gave us about a dozen each. My lime produce 2-3 times a year. I won't be lacking vitamin C

Yes there is a Kingwood Garden Club. You don't have to be an expert. You can learn as you go. There's many experienced ladies but not everyone is. I know several who are very involved. Soon they will have a garden tour! I enjoyed going.

Maybe Vinbert can let us know the next time they offer one.

muffy : Heyya! So, I'm not sure if Kingwood Library was using the same program I was, but I got an email last September, and when H.R. 1 was signed into effect, it ended funding for that program.
I've been reaching out to try and find another way to get them out to Octavia Fields, and if I manage to get someone scheduled, I'll let y'all know.
And I expect y'all to show up, too! Nothing kills a program faster then people don't come lol Emoticon

Hi! Thanks for replying. I would come and pass the word. I really enjoyed the session I went to. Time flies so fast when one is retired. I can't remember if it was last spring or the one before. At any rate, thanks for all you do for the community! You are appreciated. Harris County has a great library system! ❤️
