Car gurus. Tell me if you think this issue is the fuel pump/bad fuel.
I filled my car up with gas this morning on the way to get Mom in Kingwood. I was on WLHP and starting across the bridge when my car would not accelerate. I got a light saying the traction was off. I finally got it to go 45 and then it started slowing down. A check engine light came on as well as another that I can't remember. So, three notifications and two lights. I more or less coasted into the Y parking lot and called Mom to tell her I'd be there later, called DH, but he couldn't come to get me because he's recovering from surgery, so I called DS as I knew they were coming into town. Notified AAA for a tow and called dealership to let them know Bessie (my car) was on the way. I haven't had any of those issues before and when I tried to start the car, it wouldn't start but made a strange noise. Battery was checked and is good. Everything else worked, lights, locks, and all that good stuff. Tow truck driver said he thinks it's the fuel pump. Now I wait until Monday to find out.

KanKan : Sounds like the car went into limp mode which protects your car from anything bad happening! Could be a number of things which have to do with fuel getting into your system and it could be a clogged fuel filter all the way to the pump!!

We'll say a prayer for you and Bessie!!

KanKan: Sounds like it could be the fuel pump or maybe a clogged fuel filter.

UptownGirl : Good idea but I don't save receipts because it's on my bank statement before I drive off. I do get gas at the same place and have never had an issue.

KanKan :
bad gas, clogged fuel filter, shot fuel pump, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, I'd go with the first two.

KanKan :
I'm guessing it's a bad speed sensor. When they fails the car does not know how fast it's going and that directly affects they way the computer adjusts fuel flow and affects transmission shifting . It may of been stuck in a very low gear thus the low speed. The reason I say this is I've had similar situation. They tip for me was the " traction off ". When a speed sensor fails it no longer let's the computer know how fast the wheels are turning , so the computer turns off the traction control.
