Anyone else in Kings Point get a surprise "Green Post"?

It's an ET call home station.

Looks like it is a water sampling station. They are popping up in multiple places. The post/box is a Kupferle Eclipse Model 88-SS

Looks permanent.

One was installed near me. I spoke with the installers. It is to provide the city of Houston access to the water mains for water quality testing, bacteria, contamination, etc. They will be installing them throughout Kingwood.

We were as flummoxed as everyone else, but the install crew confirmed that it provides the ability to test the mains for water quality.
