Hello and welcome to Kingwood and KDC. First find a good church. The large church on the west side of 59 between Kingwood Dr. and Northpark (sorry, I don't remember the name as it recently changed) has many activities for every age group including young couples with children as well as a school.

Welcome. Get a notebook and walk out your front door. Introduce yourself to your neighbors. Write down their names, addresses and phone numbers. Call one or more every day. If its a short street, include everyone. If its a long street, at least 2 neighbors deep in both directions.

Mothers Day Out programs. Some of the local churches offer this 2 days a week. You and your kids will meet new people through the program. Strawbridge Methodist Church offers it.

It will be easier come summer. Take those babies to the pool and the park and talk to the other moms. That's how I met friends when my daughter was a baby and I moved here.

There are several book clubs and Bunco groups still around. Do you live in the front or back!
