Yes I always slow down for the crosswalks even if I don't see anyone there. Sometimes bikers dart out so fast without looking and I want to make sure I am going slowly and have plenty of time to stop if that happens.

But this morning while crossing in woodland hills, I swear a lady actually sped up when I was crossing to try to get through the intersection first, and came pretty close to hitting me.

More like that lady you mentioned it seems. I ride a bike either alone or with Grands and it seems many times we are moving targets. There is a white Tesla that seems to make it a challenge on the one on Woodland Grove.
