That's what we pay freaking VERY HIGH TAXES for. The city of Houston should be doing that! However, if someone wants to help ... go get'em!

ArcherMan : That is what I thought. We pay a lot in maintenance fees. I'm sure some of that should go to cleaning up the medians.

ArcherMan :
The thing is, like it or not, the kudzu is taking over our trees in the medians, and can grow as much as 1 foot per day. If we don't stop it, it will kill all the trees in our medians and spread to the neighborhoods. It HAS to be stopped! There are so many issues Houston has to deal with, some we cannot do anything about. But this is something we CAN do something about.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : KSA is separate from CoH. As a reminder - we pay a decent bit of money for both our trails and our "Kingwood" surrounding landscaping. If KSA's mandate includes the median upkeep then we have failed to hold Ethel accountable. If CoH is now responsible then again to my earlier note - best roll up your sleeves and pitch in. CoH is broke and we either pay and complain or put in our own sweat equity and complain about a sore back with a pretty drive.

WORROW : I know they are separate entities. We do pay a lot for the upkeep of the trails and common spaces of KW but with the COH thrown into the mix sometimes it is difficult to get an answer as to who is responsible for what. It used to be all KSA, the HOAs, and the Trails Associations. Now the COH is in the mix and no one seems to do anything. They can't even get it together and mow the entire median between Bear Branch and Woodland Hills on the same day. Yet alone the same week.

The Woodlands has a team of paid workers managing their trails. It's very well organized. Friendswood deliberately didn't set up a cohesive greenbelt/trail group like that. KSA does what they can but the whole approach is like a headless chicken running around.

I love the community involvement...and the initiative...go Kingwood. I will try to be there with my kids....but no promise this weekend, it's been a heck of a 3.5 monts for us, and I'm hosting a family that is without power from today's storms.
