Portillo's coming to Humble?

CelticStorm : WOW!!! Thanks for the heads up. They just opened one up in Richmond a couple of weeks ago and a few more are coming soon, but this is great news! I was weaned on Portillo's and went to the original stand years ago. Hot dogs are great, but I am an Italian Beef fan with Hot Peppers (giardenieria-like in the picture) and sweet peppers (which are not sugary sweet, just green bell peppers). Then you have to know if you want it dry with a side of au jus, dipped or wet - each one gets progressively wetter. Another thing that they have gotten to be known for is their chocolate cake which is great but their chocolate cake shake is even better - they put a whole piece of chocolate cake in the shake.They also have Chicago style tamales which are different that the regular tamales that you would get down here, but are very good in their own way, and the tamale boat is another crowd favorite!

The Italian Beef is da bomb- make sure you add the hot peppers and not the green peppers- the green peppers do not make the sandwich spicy. Fries are better than Whataburger. The Chicago dogs are legit. Hubs used to go to Portillo's when he was in Chicago and he said it's the same. We don't go often ( too many calories) but we always enjoy it when we do go

Absolutely -which is why we don't eat out very often. We try to limit it to once a week or every 10 days. I'm finding that fries esp just don't taste good to me since we went low carb

Oh I do love fries! But they have a whole lot of calories.
