Lake Houston is being lowered

Conroe is releasing at 660 cfs. In April they released at about 72,000 cfs. That looks like a minimal release rate when so much rain could come our way.

Realitycheck : They are at normal pool level and according to SJRA website have not been releasing all day. My understanding is that now they will maintain normal pool year round and only release any excess. The claim is that below normal pool jeopardizes their dam but I think it is more political.

I'm glad they are lowering it even if it's by a little. Some preparation is better than no preparation. I feel like we are much more prepared for this week with trees cut down, roof secured, and new fence up. We just need to get our storm drains cleaned out again and we should be squared away.

Realitycheck : Right now, the forecast does not call for flooding rains in the Lake Conroe watershed.

We were in Galveston yesterday...........sunny and dry but BIG waves....strong winds, sandblasting your face...........but spent most of the day inside at Convention Center.....but walked to Rain Forrest Cafe....Red flags were up at the beach at the seawall.
