CONSTABLES ARREST 26 SUSPECTED DRUNK DRIVERS OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

In preparation for the 4th of July Holiday weekend, Constable Mark Herman’s office prepared an Operations Plan with the mission of locating intoxicated and reckless drivers within Harris County Precinct 4 and preventing major accidents caused by excessive speed and or intoxicated drivers.

This zero tolerance initiative will run from Friday, June 30 thru July 4, 2023.

“These increased law enforcement patrols have incorporated a pro-active police approach during this busy weekend to keep our citizens and their families safe.” - Constable Mark Herman

Please follow Constable Herman's Safety Tips:
• Designate a sober driver if you have consumed alcohol.
• Call a cab or Uber for transportation needs.
• Protect others by taking their keys if they attempt to drive after consuming alcohol.
• Be responsible-make safe decisions.

Happy 4th of July from the men and women of Constable Mark Herman’s Office!

Why bother? The judge will just release them with little to no bond anyway!

jax : I've been watching that trend lately and it saddens me. They will have no problem about doing it again. Jail time might send a message though.

Most in jail are repeat offenders, so probably not.

TownHubAdmin : Drunk drivers should be forced to watch videos of crashes caused by their actions - non stop for 12 hours. Then be addressed by families who lost their loved ones to drunk drivers and pay serious financial restitution (6 months of pay or more). And that's for the first offense. After that first one, if you do it again, you lose your license and pay financial for 10 years (no less than $24,000 per year), although that would detour only a very few. There shouldn't be a 3-strike rule, only 2 after that, it's prison for the fools. I've lost too many to drunk drivers. RIP Kevin & Emily, Calvin, Carl, JoAnn, Larry...

Gammyof2 : I totally agree. But drunks REALLY do not care and I'm not sure anything will deter those who don't want to change
