Sorry but, Trendsetters Consignment didn't work for me.

I was cleaning out my closet 3 months ago. Great indoor activity in the Summer heat! Came across 2 Michael Kors dresses with the tags on and in the garment bags. I had heard about positive reviews about this local reale shop. Stopped by to see how this works. They were nice and explained consignment to me. Well, the owner reviewed the garments quietly and asked if I wanted the hangers back. Nah. I have stopped by about 2 times to ask about these garments on my way to HEB. One time I had to wait so long that I looked all through the store. My dresses were nowhere in site. Owner keeps telling me that the computer software is a problem. Promised to call me when she met with the computer folks. Never called. Why not just say that.."you think that there is no market for these garments"? I can go to Goodwill etc. Sorry, I cannot recommend for selling. Perhpas buying is a different situation.

Yeah, I had a bit of a problem with them as well. I had a very nice special occasion purse that was definitely vintage and I left it with them and every time I went back to get it they said they couldn't find it, but they didn't say they had sold it . After a few months of this, I just let it go…. but won't be taking anything else there to sell

Oh so sorry to hear……I have never consigned there but have often purchased at great buys. The owner is a sweet lady.

I have heard that consignors have a hard time getting paid and or getting their items back. That is disturbing.

As a buyer, my experience many times has been that they don't care if you're there. I hate being doted on, but a greeting(acknowledgement) that you are there, an offer to help if you need it( sometimes you want to browse and sometimes you need help with someone who hopefully knows their merchandise) and help in checking out when you find something. Not sure who is the owner or who is the help, but they are always on personal calls and I leave from frustration.

I went to the one in Atascocita and took a lot of stuff I got at Steinmart. I went back and couldn't find any of my stuff on the shelves including several pairs of kitten heels that I only wore a couple of times before I got plantar faciatis and couldn't wear them any more. They had a policy that you had to make $9. before you got paid and she said I didn't make it so I got no money for my clothes!
I took some stuff to the place across from Lowes years before that and I went in to check on them and a lady was standing there with one of my dresses and the saleslady looked at the tag on it and told her if she just waited a week it would be half price! I pulled everything I had taken there and sold it at a garage sale for the price I wanted.
I will never trust a resale shop again.

Have y'all tried Designer Consignor?
I've had good experiences there - buying and consigning.
