First Fall Weather Front Sweeps In
The season's first major cold front will sweep across Texas Thursday and Friday, dropping temperatures more than 20 degrees and possibly bringing the first freeze to parts of the Panhandle by Saturday morning.

"Expect wind gusts to around 40 mph on Friday, so make sure to secure any outdoor decorations!" the National Weather Service in Fort Worth posted Tuesday. The cooler air lingers through the weekend, with the 80s returning early next week.

Ahead of the front, storms could soak West Texas. A flood watch for 18 west-central counties, from San Angelo to Abilene, runs through Friday morning, with 1 to 3 inches of rain expected and up to 5 inches in spots.

Orangeapple : I am so glad the weather is cooling down a bit. When I left the house yesterday at 4 p.m. I was not sweating before I got to my car. That is a good thing!

I'm normally super excited for the cooler and even colder weather. However, this year, not quite sure how the new knee will react, so I'm, for now, cautiously optimistic.
