Theres a new simple blood test that can detect many forms of cancer very early, and test for genetic predispositions as well, long before symptoms occur. Highly accurate too.

Not covered by insurance (lol) but its $3500.

Would you?

MissAmericanPie :
Hmmmm not sure. Without symptoms, probably not. There are alternative treatments for various cancers that could be considered.

MissAmericanPie :
The problem is, it's only good for right them. You'd have to pay $3500.00 every year. Not many can afford that. It might be worth it if there an aggressive cancer in your family.

I wish there was a test to detect stupidity, a lot of the peeps in the fast lane would learn a lot about themselves.

And no that most definitely would or be covered by insurance, or maybe it will, they would definitely know where they can go and raise their premiums.

MissAmericanPie :
I just saw Kevin on that commercial, too. They have him a bit 'filtered' too; hardly a wrinkle Emoticon I looked at pricing; it begins around $950, and is not usually covered by most insurance, although some plans cover part of it, just not many. I am hoping in the next year that there is more competition for the procedure, and insurance will lean in a bit more, to help with the cost, and that will make it more attainable, and probably, even more accurate.

MissAmericanPie : I have a dr that has wanted me to take that test for years. Cancer runs through my family, but not immediate family. Another dr said if it's immediate family then I probably should. Another dr said to make sure you have life insurance before you take it. I'm not taking it.

MissAmericanPie : We are faced with this right now. Hubby's dad had melanoma and died from it. He has been asked if he wants to have the gene testing done to see if he is predisposed to melanoma. Anyway, When hubby was asked he said not at this time. I think he needs time to let it soak in.
What do yall think? Would you do it?

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : In that situation YES. It's an opportunity to get an early life saving diagnosis.
There may be o specific cheaper test just for checking melanoma.
I've known several people who passed from this. BrendaT's son in law as well.
