It's time to deeply regulate these things. Outlawing them from streets would be too much to hope for but the right thing to do. They have zero business sharing roadways with motor vehicles, PERIOD.

That's a report from October 1, so probably the same one. I So agree with you! If par3ents start getting tickets, and have to pay them, Maybe that will help remedy the problem!?

Yes, this is a different accident than the one posted yesterday. That one was on Kingwood Drive and WLHP, this one is in Atascocita south of Atascocita Rd.

Ruger5 : Something has got to happen. I see kids darting out in front of cars all the time. Their brains are not able to handle this kind of responsibility. Foot powered bikes would be so much better!

Ruger5 :
A special license is required to operate a motorcycle (Class M) & a CDL (commercial DL) is needed to drive an 18 Wheeler…. So it only makes sense that if these e-scooters/bikes are being operated on streets then they need their own license as well! (IMO) I also think a person should be at least 15 to obtain this license.
-And any license/motorized vehicle needs to require insurance! **If parents were required to pay for these … I think some improvements would happen.

I think we should contact our local , state, and US representatives to introduce some law changes. I have had a lot of luck with Crenshaw, but since he will be leaving soon, I'm not sure how that would work.

Well, Ireland is doing something about it. I wish we would follow suit. I posted this on the forum, but someone's comment brought it to fast lane.

Please do not advocate for more regulations. Americans are over regulated already, we have so many laws no, that you can not spit out a bug without breaking the law. People driving need to pay attention to driving, not doing other things and blaming their failures on others.

I think parents should need to carry insurance on these motorized vehicles-don't carry insurance and something happens parents gets the ticket-unless the money would come out of their pocket nothing will be change

Luv2eatsushi : Should be the kid. The greenbelt trails say stop at most I've seen but I have seen them go through crosswalks at busy intersections when they have the red/do not cross lit up.

Kids getting hit on these scooters are not the driver's fault. The kids are darting out in front of cars and zooming through parking lots

Ruger5 :
I cannot understand parents not protecting their children. Regardless of who is responsible for the accidents, the children will be the ones injured. Don't let children play in the street has always been understood.

@KingwoodNparking lot and you are at fault. KingwoodNana :
Drivers not paying attention In parking lots, pedestrians get hit in parking lots, private property. How do you hit things in a parking lot? You should be on your highest alert for obstacles. Driving at speeds that allow for evasive actions as needed. Crosswalks are right a ways for pedestrians and bikers alike. Being hit by a e bike is different than hitting a bike.
