#msg6020865The crossovers are easier to see on coming traffic.
I totally support clearing the medians. It makes our community look more upscale, and it improves sightlines for the crossovers. The underbrush and vines smother the trees, so I'd think the tree huggers on KDC would support this effort.
They are not only clearing the vines though. They are clear cutting smaller native trees as well. I've heard from one of the HOA members that they used one of our greenbelts in Greentree as a "test".
He said that they were only supposed to remove anything 4" diameter or less. They took everything from 36" diameter down. It looks terrible and the residents that back up to what used to be a lush beautiful greenbelt now have an eyesore.
Now the greenbelt is overgrown with weeds and vines. Very few trees.
The heavy removal equipment broke up the greenbelt path in a lot of areas. Of course that hasn't been repaired or the park bench that's rotting away (for over a year now). I think our time, funds and resources should be better spent. Clearing vines is on thing, clear cutting like fern gully is another. Don't pee on a rock and tell me it's raining.

I've been nearly hit on several occasions at totally open unobstructed intersections.
I think it's great. It will allow the trees to grow better instead of being choked out. I'm just concerned about the palmettos. They grow so slowly I hope they are not cutting those down.

I think it's great. All that massive over growth makes our community look so dated. I wish they would clear them all and keep them maintained.

I hope they continue clearing out the vines and unsightly underbrush.

I like the neatness of the clearing. It seemed overgrown to me.

Remember KW the livable forest. Not anymore
Making it harder on all the native animals (deer)
Horrible idea

If they didn't clean out the vines, it will kill the trees. The vines are just a mess and not pretty. It looks much better now, and well kept. It will look more natural when some of the underbrush comes back.

I've lived in KW since '86
It was great to see deer and other animals Now we have LESS deer and more 17/18 year old HS drivers causing more accidents
Let me help you. The deer are not the traffic problem at the medians

Pine trees are good for lumber and paper. I'm in favor of removing them in the medians and along power lines. Pine trees are terrible as a lawn tree.. needles, pollen, sap, twigs
