#msg6018765Donnawisdom : We have no trees in our back yard but get all the pine straw from the neighbors next door and city trees behind our fence. The LA place is different as it probably has about 12 pines on it and I really dislike them. lol This is the big one behind the LA house. If it falls, it will cut the house in half no doubt. It's the one I'm most concerned about.

KanKan : Same for me, neighbors trees.. ughhh

Brad Lambert of the Gutterman (281-376-4200). This is a family business we have used for many years. We have the pine needles removed from the roof at least once a year. They do a thorough job, clean up (rake and sweep), bag and cart-off every time. They come when they say they will. We certainly recommend them.

I advise not getting up on the roof to do it yourself. It is much less expensive hiring it done than being taken to the hospital in an ambulance with a broken leg or worse. Then there are multiple casts and then rehab. I know from personal experience!

#msg6018763hooper : muffy : I solved this problem by getting rid of the pine trees.

Donnawisdom : we had 14 of them in our yard in Forest Cove. I spent half my time there raking and bagging the damned needles.
When we moved to the back of KW, the #3 requirement after Swimming Pool, 2 car wide driveway was NO DAMNED PINES!"

I love the way they look, I love the way they smell, I love them! But the damned needles are hell to keep clean

Kaylagirl : I used to do it four times a year at our old house in Kings Forest. Emoticon

I was also the lawn crew and pool boy. I don't miss it.

jv339 : We had two pines like that, one 10 feet from the front door and one 10 feet from the back door at our Kings Forest house. They were at least 80 years old and had survived many many storms. Lots of pine needles on the roof, and in the pool.

buffaloglenn :
I agree the needles are a major hassle. Constantly cleaning out my windshield wiper well of the 2 inch accumulation. I can just imagine what a mess that would be for your pool!😱
