#msg6018433Catarack Surgery this morning. I had one eye done about three weeks ago. Today the other eye. I can't wait. Berkley has been very good and the people are nice. The only drawback is I won't be able to play golf for a while. By the time I heal, the weather should be cooler

golfshot : Prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery!

I had cataract surgery one eye at a time at Texas Eye Institute. It took 45 min for prep and less than three minutes for surgery, while I was awake, they told me what they were doing in the laser cut.....at the time they had one of 10 eye lasers in the world. Coming out of surgery, I told the nurses I could now see like Superman....xray vision...........I got some giggles.

Praying for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Both DH and I had cataract surgery. Dr. Shrum (Berkley) did our surgeries although I understand he no longer does surgery and could perhaps be retired now. Please keep us posted.

I did use the ones they gave me, but used those OTC ones, for another 60 days, after using up the ones they gave me, after surgery. There were So many eye drops before surgery, and then...after! Emoticon But, my doctor said the continued use helped my eyes heal very well, and kept me from any discomfort, too. My sister did not do this, and felt like they had 'nicked' the inside of her eyelid, as there was a feeling of a 'tight spot' in her eye. Her dr said it was probably dryness, so keep using a good OTC eye drop. She doesn't listen Emoticon You can ask your dr about the extended us, when you go back tomorrow, for your check up. Glad you are feeling well, and home!

golfshot -
So glad it's behind you and that your recovery is going smoothly. Mine was done by Dr McQueen who I've known since he was a child. He has relocated in Brenham now- certainly their gain. But I think all the Drs at Berkeley are top notch .
I really like that he ordered the eye drops I had to take from a compound pharmacy so I only had to take one medication of drops instead of the usual 3.

He also asks his patients if they would like him to pray before he begins the procedure.

It was such an easy process and makes me so grateful to be a senior when this life changing surgery has been so perfected .

I upgraded my surgery so I would no longer need my readers . I absolutely love not having to fumble in my purse for my glasses or walk at with them on top of my head! Worth it 100%!
