My sister said the improvements and milestones seemed to come in two week increments.
She also said this stretchy therapy strap was invaluable for helping to lift her leg up to get into bed or lounge on the sofa. She found an elastic strap thing that helped with lifting her leg into bed

teatime : Thank you, a FB friend suggested this strap, and I added it early on to my pre-op supply list. I have to say, of everything I bought, this has been the best and most helpful.

OH MY! Do I need to prepare you a tray from our KDC Ladies Afternoon Tea or will you be up to a drop-in if I set up an extra chair for your leg? It's not for another 13 days!

BrendaT : I will need to play it by ear. The tea sounds fun and is after my post-op checkup. I'll see what kind of "releases" I get from him. Hoping to get clearance to go back to work, at least remotely, and other restrictions lifted. Got a lot riding on that visit.

donnatella : Glad everything went well; heal up, do the PT and stuff and enjoy that new knee.

Mimilane : Thank you! I put this off for the last 5 years and just like everyone told me, I will be wishing I had done it sooner. I'm definitely signing up for the other knee the instant it needs its first cortisone injection. The surgeon's PA said it's about 1-2 years out.

Both of mine are needing replacement. I will continue getting the injections, scared to do the surgery. But may change my mind. Take care.

Mimilane : I was terrified and my anxiety leading up to it was off the charts. I didn't believe anyone saying the pain I lived with everyday (bone on bone, no cartilage) was worse than post-op surgical pain, but I gotta say, they were right and well worth the process and journey. You trade one set of pain for another but on the other end, pain you know improves daily and will end.
