#msg6016948So when is the best time to do an Alaskan cruise? I'm sure I have no clothes to wear in one either way. Lol. Would it be too cold in March?

#msg6016663Any fellow crusiers our there? DH and I just returned from a 10-day cruise to Alaska and Canada. It was AMAZING! I want to book another cruise very soon, but not sure where to go. Any suggestions? I've cruised to Mexico a couple of times and would like something different. Pic of Johns Hopkins Glacier calving for attention

At the risk of sounding like poor pitiful me, those of you who have spouses to travel with, should consider yourself very blessed and thank God every day. My husband got sick 37 years ago and life has been a struggle. Many of my friends on here have lost their mates. I am just saying, rejoice because you are blessed if you have that companionship.

I have only gone on Princess, which I like. Going to New Zealand from Honolulu was a highlight. Then transatlantics from London stopping in Caribbean was nice. Lived in Alaska so felt like I didn't need to do cruise.

Favorite cruises were to Alaska & southern Caribbean. Our cruise to New England/Canada out of NYC was also great. Really looking forward to our repo cruise from Seattle to Galveston thru the Panama Canal late next year!
Donnawisdom reacted We've been to several ports in the Caribbean and south Florida. My favorite is Key West. Even though you are still in the U.S. it feels like you are in another country (IMO).Costa Maya is another favorite spot, love the shopping areas and have enjoyed some restaurants there. Mahogany Bay is another great port to visit. A friend of mine went to Progresso on a cruise earlier this year and didn't like it. She said she and her friends couldn't even lie on the beach without vendors interrupting them and trying to get them to buy souvenirs. That's enough of a reason for me to avoid Progresso on a cruise. Don't know if your experience was better.

My very dear friend is on an Oceania cruise right now. They are inn Boulogne-sur-Mer France right now. I believe they are also going to Spain and Portugal and some other ports of call .
She absolutely loves it and told me that she knows I'm not a cruise person but believes I would love this cruise line.
It's adult only, she said the food is divine and the service impeccable. She said that there is not a lot of emphasis on onboard shows and entertainers which would be fine by me.
From the pictures she has sent me I think it would be a cruise line that I would enjoy . We did one cruise and didn't enjoy it - too many people and we thought the food was just ok. This looks like it is a couple of tiers above the cruise we did several years ago.

It's the Carnival Spirit and it leaves Seattle on Sept 25, 2027. 16 days.
We cruised to Alaska last year on Holland America from/return Seattle. It was amazing.
By the time I fill the suitcase up for the different nights party themes, first aid kit, bathing gear, shoes, etc it's going to weigh 100 lbs!
Donnawisdom reacted Alaska was my favorite cruise aboard Holland America. Second favorite was Hawaii. We flew to Honolulu then spent the entire cruise among various islands. Both fantastic.

I loved my Panama cruise. It was so fun and I liked being in a ship for 14 days, I would do it again. People on that cruise were really fun.
