Dino Coffee in New Caney; the rest are disappointing, to me, especially Eightbucks

Javaman they have a little outlet in the HEB at WLHP. Fig & Table, very cute place.

Sadly, I have yet to find a good coffee shop locally we venture out to find the best ones, some standouts have been New Heights Coffee Roasters, Conduit Coffee, TwoTone Coffee, Cambrian Coffee, Fifth Vessel and Blendin' Coffee Club, personally I like my coffee shops to be doing innovative things with coffee, elevating the art and most of these fit that bill. There is one in Conroe I want to try called Urban Grind but we haven't made it over there yet. We went to Shouting Grounds and it was fine but only if you are in the mood for a basic "dessert in a cup" type coffee or something even more basic, which if I wanted just that I wouldn't be at a coffee shop, haven't made it to Fig & Table yet though.

We have a subscription to a service that provides small batch roasts from independent coffee makers. We choose whole bean and grind as we go for these.
We generally use a drip coffee maker. On 'special' occasions, I get out the French press (ooh, la la, oui oui, c'est si bon). Those we have on weekends as a treat.Whole bean has been our go to for quite some time as we can control the coarseness of the grind depending on how we are brewing it.
Almost exclusively, it's a dark roast. On weekdays, it's a brand like Black Rifle, Death Wish, Peets, Stumptown, Counter Culture, and if we HAVE to Starbucks.
If I'm feeling like I've earned a real treat, I get Jablum Blue Mountain Whole Bean. It's over $90/lb.The 8&R coffee in the first picture is one the best coffees I've ever had.

I always wondered about Death Wish coffee. If, I was looking for a special treat, I don't think $90/lb for coffee would cut it!🤣

It's not $90 for a single cup of coffee. It's $90 for a 16 ounce bag.
My calculation is that that bag will make about 12 eight cup pots.
It is less than a dollar per cup, a high price for coffee brewed at home but it is incredible. Just think about it this way, if you go to Starbucks every weekday for work and spend $4.50, you have just spent $90 on 20 cups of coffee.
I only get it once a year.
The last time I was in Jamaica, I negotiated with a local for two bags for $100 cash 💵. A win for both of us.
