Spoiled Meat from H-E-B Curbside (North Park)...trigger warning for vegetarians...
am I the only one who's been receiving rotten meat when ordering curbside pick-up? Over the past couple of months the 'pickers' have given me rotten (but NOT past the 'sell by' date) ground beef, baby back ribs, chuck roast, brisket and now I'm giving up and switching to Kroger. They have not allowed me a refund on these and I'm angry as

@Echo72 :
How can it be "rotten" if its not past the sell by date? Sometimes meat discolors but it doesnt mean its rotten.

@Echo72 : How is it rotten - by smell or visual? We have always had good luck with HEB curbside (and sprouts curbside). The only issue we have had are broken eggs (sometimes about 1-3 per carton - and we get expensive eggs - so those add up). Whenever we have any issues (we had some green potatoes once) - HEB is always quick to fix it. We buy a lot of meat from HEB - and so far ours has always been fresh.

I've lived in the area for 13 years and never had a problem, but suddenly in July it began...either straight out of the bag after pick-up spoiled or in fridge overnight only, the refrigerator is fine but I appreciate the suggestion of a potential cause.

@NoBias :
By smell AND visual for all except the spare ribs, which looked perfect. It wasn't until I opened the package the day after I picked the load up that the entire apartment reeked!!! of rotten meat for a few days, I spent several hours airing the place out

I see all the 'pickers' pulling orders for curbside pickup, and I don't think they are consistent in pulling perishables at the end of pulling orders. I might be that the meat has set too long in the picking cart or in the holding area prior to you picking up the order. We've never had HEB refuse a refund on anything we buy there.

Ew, it's probably not even real meat. Does HEB do business with JBS USA?

We do the same and usually have no issues. My DH puts up groceries and it's not till a day or so later I am missing something or I got a bag from someone else. Open fridge and found baby food. Haven't bought baby food in over 20 yrs. Now I need to go threw cart to see what I am missing.
