Description and location please. The thunder must be a frightening experience for him.

I have no idea how to capture a bird. Most I've encountered are beyond distrustful of strangers.

Maybe put a bird cage with some food, water, toys but... I dunno.

And I really don't know how you'd keep the wild birds and squirrels away.

Hopefully the owner see this and can show up in person.

@Chow :
That's definitely a thought but... If it's socialized (yet apolitical), maybe standing outside with an arm extended holding a nice piece of fruit could tempt it.

My parakeet and budgies would land on anything I was eating and help themselves.

@RolloTomaso : Umm… May I suggest you put an extra bowl of fruit beside you while eating your own fruit… to keep your birds off your lips?!? LOL 🤣
(sorry, that was the funny visual I got from your description Emoticon Emoticon 😉

@Kwlilbear :
what kind of bird? some escapee parakeets will assimilate with a group of other wild birds, and enjoy a life of freedom. I have one blue parakeet that shows up now and again.

My mom took a turn for the worst and we were heading to hospital to say goodbyes. A yellow parakeet landed in the middle of street in front of his house and wouldn't budge. My Dad picked it up and put it in the cage with his other parakeets. Yes, he loves his birds. My mom passed that night and I think that bird was sent to us.
On my Bday in front of Riverwood Middle School a cardinal landed right in the middle of my lane and made me stop and stare. Then flew away so once again I think it was her. What bird stops a car?

@LittleTexas :
I've heard of a flock of wild parakeets appearing at times around the Clear Lake area...

I like the way you're thinking here

I was in college and not too concerned about it. She was very clean and a total joy. She even slept with me in bed at times...

Had 10 good years with her. She was my constant companion. Also, she loved road trips!

You could put some bird seed out and see if it comes to you.

Parrots and similar birds migrate down here. I grew up along Galveston Bay and saw all kinds of tropical birds. My first time was seeing a tree full of parrots next to my school. I was about eight or nine. I say fill the bird feeder and enjoy their company. If it is a pet, hopefully it will find new friends and not a predator.
