New $38 Million Elementary School Planned in Porter

New Caney ISD is planning a new elementary school in Porter, according to a newly registered Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The project, listed as Crossroads Elementary School, is planned for 22256 Ford Road and would serve Pre-K through 5th grade students.

The filing describes the project as new construction of a 139,685-square-foot campus. The estimated cost is $38 million. Construction is currently scheduled to begin October 30th, 2026, with completion projected for April 30th, 2028.

The project remains in the registered stage, and additional district details about attendance zones or an opening date have not yet been included in the filing.

Wonder why they built the new one so close? I figured they would rebuild this old one. Its in a horrible spot w the widening of Ford rd

I think there are more multiple unit housing buildings being put in beside single family residences; possibly easier accessibility for bus transportation and for families it will service ?

Off subject I hate the cross walk curbs put in at the new elementary school here in Kingwood. Before they painted them it was a hazard.

@TEXASGIRLMAMMA : You want to hear something even funnier I wished I had a dash cam to capture it. I saw a lady turn out of the parking area at HEB and completely run over the signs saying to stop for pedestrians. I was WTF and rolling in my car with laughter at the same time.
