I think it got enough business here….just not in other parts of the country. Like Tuesday Morning and the Crown Bookstore, where Palais Royal was. We have lost businesses because they failed in other locations. IDK… maybe I am wrong, but this is my thought!!!

#msg5992986Joe : I'm also finding it interesting that everyone wants Steinmart back, but it didn't seem to get enough business to stay open here.

#msg5993056CatalinaD : I think the parent company had overwhelming debt problems that tanked the whole thing….independently, the KW may have been profitable on its own…
#msg5992801ceamommy : Outback and Fuddruckers.
Agreed - Steinmart was terrific and also bring back Steak N Ale /Their food choices, the salad bar, the bar where you dine in there too for the quiet - lots of business was handled there and lots of families went there to celebrate events!
Oh my goodness, I was a little girl when our family used to go to the Log Cabin often to celebrate family get togethers. Loved the family style of serving, and I am a grown grandma now, but I still remember being about 8 or 9 and dining with family there. It was a very special place.

Jack in the Box. Sometimes I crave those greasy tacos or the breakfast sandwiches
The Demitasse and Cafe Dubois were both great as others have said. I am sorry they are no longer here. I ate at both places often. I can see the pretty lady who owned the Demitasse in my mind, but I can't remember her name.
I think we went to church together.
SummerSneeze reacted I think we went to church together.
OMG, My mom and I use to go there all the time for lunch, and you're right about the tea, it was great and I don't really like tea either!

#msg5992984Cbear : I don't actually remember the Mason Jar. I do remember Cliff's and they were really good.
