Last trip to SHOWBIZ KW I said the last time was the last time, but we thought the SDX theater would be different…IT'S NOT. When we walked in, there was popcorn all over the floor in the lobby, in every direction, the bathrooms need a good scrubbing from a professional cleaning service, as does every inch of this place, and, as many have commented previously, the seats and cup holders are horrendous. I felt like I needed a decontamination shower after leaving. Next movie trip is somewhere far from this sh!+hole. NEVER.EVER.AGAIN. SHOWBIZ KW, DO BETTER!!!

donnatella: i'm not even sure how they got 3 1/2 stars on Yelp; they probably bought the most recent reviews, but the ones before that are honest and barely gave it one star! so you're right management is well aware , but as long as people are coming and spending their money there, they really don't care. Ugh
LittleTexas : Not sure if we were going too early, but attendance was sparse, at best, all over the theater. Thought with the heat and it being a Saturday, the place might be packed. Maybe 20 in the SDX theater, 10-15 up front at the snack counter, and we only passed a few people down the hallway.
donnatella : looks like the Health Department needs to see some of those pics. Went 2 years ago on a date, and the 2 seats together we wanted to sit in, were full of spilled soft drink and old popcorn. The only other 2 seats were front row, and that was a no, for my eyesight and Not craning our necks. My date went to ask a manager to clean off the seats. They sent a kid about 15 with a wet, nasty rag. he knocked the popcorn off of the seat, did not wipe it, and walked away. We agreed we were asking for his money back, and did. Havent gone back, and don't plan to. Used to go to the Woodlands, until Valley Ranch opened.

donnatella : The seats are like that because the disinfectant they used during Covid ruined the seats. They don't have the money to replace them. Showbiz is a small cinema company, in a dying industry, where the only profitable businesses are very large and well-capitalized.
Used to go to the Woodlands, until Valley Ranch opened.
LittleTexas : We used to go more often and used to go to the Woodlands. There just hasn't been very many movies we want to see in a theater that we can't wait a few months to see at home on streaming. This has definitely cured us of wanting to go out to the movies for a good while. We still have great options for dinner, live music, etc. and that's good for us.

Unfortunately, the movie is a draw for shoppers, and helps the Maul ( sp), since shoppers will stroll the mall before or after the movie. But, since few go to the movies there..no shopping time, either.

donnatella : The new (or latest) owner company doesn't care. The one during Covid it was a great company. It's so sad they are letting it go downhill so fast. It's one thing for the leather to be worn out but rips no way.

MissAmericanPie : So agree; just getting some Fabuloso and cleaning is not that expensive. Maybe they can't afford a cleaning service all the time, but they could get them to come in once, get it clean, and then Keep it that way. Cleaning 'clean' does not take that long, if you keep up with it, in a reasonable manner.
