Blue Water Galveston! Since there's been very little wind or storms in the area, Galveston water is visibly blue, today! Have a friend at Pirate's Beach asking me to come visit for a few days. I just might; will be calm down there with school starting this week!

LittleTexas : We usually go to the beach a few times a year but haven't made it this year. We will, but, are running out of time!

; when school starts is a great time to go, and we have enjoyed the water until mid October in Galveston, since it stays warm, so long. The Island was my first beach, and though I have been to many others, I still love Galveston and High Island.

LittleTexas : I agree! I think when school resumes..best time to go. Less crowds in restaurants, shopping and of course...the beach!
CatalinaD : honestly, I usually go on a short trip right after Labor Day, once the kids are back in school, and by then, all colleges are in session, and places to stay, flights, etc are less, and there are no crowds

jv339 : we usually fish from my son's boat a few miles off of Matagorda Bay, and see this pretty water, but it is not as common at the beach; the water is clear, too. lack of storms, sadly, but nice to dip your toes in

LittleTexas : A few years ago we stayed in a beach house mid September and it was plenty hot. The water was great!
TEXASGIRLMAMMA: that is a great time to go you kinda have to watch the tropics and make sure that there's no big storms but the good thing is you're close to home so you can watch it and not have to be in the middle of a storm over there .

LyleLanleyII: i do wish it was possible to see the dolphins more often from the beach itself when we go out just a couple of miles they learn to follow us and it's amazing to see. I see them from my beach place in Florida when I sit on the porch having coffee in the morning. « Back to Chat
