Porter Area IHOP Planned for Applebee's Dual-Brand Expansion
Porter Area IHOP Planned for Applebee's Dual-Brand Expansion Plans have been registered to renovate and expand the existing IHOP at 23681 Church Street in Porter into a dual-brand IHOP and Applebee's restaurant. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, the project would add 836 square feet to the current 4,102-square-foot building, creating a total space of approximately 4,938 square feet. The addition is planned to provide an expanded dining area. The privately funded renovation is estimated to cost $150,000. Construction is currently listed to begin on August 17th, 2026, with completion projected for September 17th, 2026. The project remains in the registered stage, and details about an opening date have not yet been announced.

luannski : Yes. It was on KWD next to Taco Bell and KFC, where the vision place is now. It got closed for selling booze to minors- TABC busted them, and they lost their liquor license. That happened a couple of years after we moved here in 1990. We used to take the kids there sometimes because it was the only 'sit-down' full-service restaurant in KW at the time.
win12air: crowded about six months ago they only had the drive-through open. It's sadly nothing like the ones in Canada. On par with Dunkin Donuts. We never went back

CaffeineFree : We went there a couple times and the service was terrible and the food was lousy. The parking lot was always empty.
CaffeineFree : I remember that Applebees. They closed and then it became a restaurant called Callendars where I first tried artichoke and spinach dip. Funny the dumb things you remember from decades ago.
