Happened to me about 25 years ago when a transformer outside my then-house blew, frying my microwave.They didn't care. I had to pay for the replacment.Fortunately, newer homes (of which I have one) include a whole-house surge suppressor, which protect against such things, but it was certainly a p*sser at the time.

The Electric Power providers are not maintaining the power lines. The Power lines that keep making our power go on /off have been broken several times and dead trees are laying across power lines for months now.
