Looking for desperate help with my dog
Looking for desperate help with my dog I have a 2 year old yorkie terrier who suddenly had gotten worse and worse.. we took her to the vet here in kingwood and after an x ray and some tests they let us know that she has an obstruction (and the estimate for that is 9k) and she also has hip displacia. We were given the dog almost a year ago and could tell something was wrong with her hips but she didnt seem to be in pain, still ran around and living a normal life. Now, obstruction surgery needs to be done asap, and like I said, we got quoted $9k max, which we dont have. Im looking to see what options I have or if anyone here in the neighborhood would take the financial care for her to have the surgery she needs (and of course keep her afterwards) because I dont want her suffering or in pain. We paid the vet visit, x ray, and a shot thats supposed to help with pain. But urgently asking for someone to take over financially and for her as well. Its already hard because we are all attached to her, and she is the best dog ever and it breaks my heart. With back to school shopping, and how expensive life is getting we did not expect from one day to the next to pay 9k for a surgery. Let me know if you have any advice.

Sincerelyme : This is so sad! I hope you find someone who will care for this pup. Did they say what is causing the blockage? Maybe someone knows of a rescue group that can help. That is a lot of money! Could pay it out???

Sincerelyme : Maybe a second opinion that might have better news or help. Lake Houstom Animal Hospital are really reasonable too. I would go to them for a second opinion.
Sincerelyme : Animal Care of Lake Houston won't gouge you like that. Take her in for their opinion.
Sincerelyme : That is a huge amount that many/most people cannot afford. Perhaps a rescue group could help with a different veterinarian and financial assistance?
Sincerelyme : Please do a Google search asking "Charity help with Vet Bills "....it brings up lots of resources and advice. Think also a second opinion would be good....
Try to look on the Bissell pet foundation site for help.
