Why do u feel bad?

They do not do well in this kind of heat. They need shady cool areas, water and food. Plus they have no protection from predators.

There were two in the median across from Riverwood Middle the other day. They looked like they were completely undisturbed by passing traffic.

Chickens have had a lot of experience crossing roads!

Because I've never seen that before …that's not normal IMO I feel like it's someone's pet who escaped the yard or it fell off the Purdue truck

The biggest concern is predators with traffic a secondary issue. There is adequate shade and natural food sources although water may be lacking.

that was so kind of you! see if one of your neighbors has a live trap you can use, and then you can get in touch with one of the school FFA Chapters, and they can find a brood for this bird to join. Call the school offices, as the secretaries, etc are there on some weekdays, to get ready for school to begin. Tractor Supply might know of someone who keeps chickens, or Cowboy Feed Store in New Caney, off of 1485 might be able to help.

That chicken is lucky I haven't seen it. Free range all the way

Our daughter has wild chickens in HI that she feeds.

MeAgain : Probably not hungry, but definitely hot. And looks like a chicken/hen. They're pretty hardy.
